Emergency help
Call 112 immediately
112 is India's national emergency number. In many states, 108 also connects to an ambulance. Ambulance arrangements differ by region.
While you wait
- Note the time the symptoms started, or when the person was last seen well.
- Keep the person safe and comfortable. If they are drowsy or vomiting, turn them onto their side.
- Collect their medicines list and any reports to take to hospital.
- Ask the ambulance team to take them to the nearest hospital that can treat stroke.
Avoid delays
- Do not wait to see whether the symptoms go away.
- Do not give food, water or any medicine by mouth unless a doctor tells you to.
- Do not spend time on home remedies before calling for help.
